As a critical services Shift Engineer, you will provide the technical support that is required for monitoring, servicing, maintenance and fault-finding on critical data infrastructure and associated equipment. Working with our experienced team, you will ensure a reliable and effective service delivery that meets (and exceeds) our customers’ expectations and will work to industry highest standards.In this role you will be working on a continental shift pattern of 12 hour-shifts including night work.
Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on the building services infrastructure utilizing CMMS systems in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Conduct routine plant inspections and site checks as per site walk round sheets in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Complete maintenance tasks to meet statutory compliance.
Identify any non-compliance areas and take corrective actions to address these within required timescales.
Monitor Building Management Systems within the operations office and provide appropriate responses to alarm activations.
Provide first line response to all building services infrastructure on site. Escalate to third party contractors where specialist knowledge/skills are required.
Operate the Concept IT system for planned maintenance and reactive task handling in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Operate under the safe systems of work.
Use the Risk Management process to ensure all works on site are carried out in a safe manner.
Carry out self-evaluations for all non-standard works.
Take responsibility for ensuring all sub-contractors working on site are supervised to work within the agreed limitation of their work permits.
Operate the Quality Management processes developed by our client in accordance with specific standard operating processes.
Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required of this position.
Recognised formal Electrical training (City and Guilds etc.)
Knowledge of operation of critical building infrastructure (UPS, Generators, Static Switches)
Security Cleared to BS7858

Keys to Success:
? Working as a Building Service Engineer over a significant period (ideally 5 years +), in a modern data centre environment, within a large organisation
? Working as part of a team ? Undertaking multi-discipline engineering tasks
? Computer literate with a good standard of IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft business packages ? Excellent verbal and non-verbal communications e.gg IT/written
? Strong customer focus
? Calm manner, able to work well under pressure
